What is ? CMMC is the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification process created by the USA's Department of Defense. What is CMMC Buddy? CMMC Buddy is a free service website created by Futures, Inc. We want to create something that everyone can benefit without paying fees. We welcome contributions by others in the ways of funding, tool ideas, tool creation, capabilities, recommendations, and anything that will help benefit all companies that must adhere to the CMMC framework as well as any company wanting to strengthen their overall cybersecurity posture. We also welcome support in the manner of helping us get specific capabilities (like CASE) certified to be FIPS validated). As companies contribute to this service, we will add your name to a contribution page. Funding support does not gain any preferential treatment, but it is appreciated. CMMC Artifact Hashing Tool is a tool written in powershell to help compliant companies create hash files for the evidence files used during an assessment. What is ? CMMC Artifact Hashing Tool (CAHT) Buddy is Futures' solution designed to help CMMC-compliant organizations perform the artifact hashing function - traditionally handled by a PowerShell script. For some companies, this script-based approach may pose technical challenges. CAHT Buddy simplifies the process by enabling users to complete the task directly in their web browser. Once the tool is selected, your browser will support drag-and-drop functionality, allowing you to drop the required folder—outlined in the CMMC Artifact Hashing Guide—directly into the interface. The tool will then display the corresponding hash values on the screen. Additionally, CAHT Buddy provides options to download or copy the hash values as needed to meet CMMC requirements. It is free to use and was created to support the broader cybersecurity community. No data is sent to our servers. All information is processed and kept on your browser. CMMC AES-256 Secure Encryption (CASE) Buddy is Futures' solution designed to help organizations perform highly secure encryption - traditionally handled by locally installed tools, command line options, or uploading files to a cloud server (this is a no no) to securely encrypt files. Futures' CASE Buddy will perform all encryption local to your own browser, and nothing is uploaded to a cloud service. CASE uses the AES-256 algorithm to securely encrypt/decrypt your file(s) and hands you the encrypted/decrypted file(s) when done. All actions are performed on your local browser and nothing is exchanged with our server. You are welcome to use your own password or select the "generate" button and have CASE create a strong password for your file. The tool will rate your password if you use your own. Additionally, the files are compatible with 7zip and zip formats, so you can use other tools to decrypt them if you prefer. If you have any questions or feedback, we would love to hear from you. What is ? CMMC Buddy Banner Generator (CBBG) Buddy is Futures' solution designed to help organizations generate a logon/access banner for their systems. This banner should then be implemented to help with Level 2 requirement AC.L2-3.1.9 - PRIVACY & SECURITY NOTICES, which states: Provide privacy and security notices consistent with applicable CUI rules. Make sure this banner is displayed on all systems/services used within the CMMC Level 2 boundary. While this banner is not required for Level 1 environments, it is recommended to have some form of banner. A Level 1 banner should only show that FCI (Federal Contract Information) may be on the systems being used. There is a toggle switch to select between CUI and FCI use banners, if so desired.
